Support Low-Income Seniors

The Senior Care Basic Needs Drive, hosted by Zuhri Care, is an ongoing initiative aimed at helping low-income seniors address their essential needs, ensuring they can live healthy lives with dignity. As the senior poverty rate continues to rise, this project provides critical support to vulnerable older adults in our community.

Why This Is Important

Many basic items, such as cleaning supplies and incontinence products, are frequently overlooked yet critically needed. Cleaning supplies are essential for maintaining a healthy home environment, which directly contributes to seniors’ physical well-being and dignity. Incontinence products help prevent public embarrassment, allowing seniors to engage with their communities confidently.

Additionally, puzzles and games play a vital role in preventing cognitive decline, keeping seniors mentally engaged and sharp. Socks and blankets, simple yet essential items, ensure seniors stay warm and comfortable, particularly during colder months.

These essential items can be prohibitively expensive for seniors living on fixed incomes, leaving them to make difficult choices between necessities like food, medicine, and hygiene. To help alleviate this burden, the drive seeks donations of:

What is Needed

  • Toiletries and grooming products
  • Socks and blankets
  • Cleaning supplies and laundry detergent
  • Paper towels and toilet paper
  • Adult diapers
  • Games and puzzles
  • Medical devices (walkers, canes, blood pressure monitors, toilet seats)

How You Can Help

Items can be purchased directly from the Amazon Wish List, or monetary contributions can be made via CashApp or Zelle to 281-468-0186. Gift card donations are also welcomed.

“Our seniors deserve more than just survival; they deserve to thrive,” said Lula Goodall, CEO of Zuhri Care. “This initiative is about more than donations—it’s about demonstrating to our elders that they are valued, supported, and not forgotten.”

All donations go directly to seniors in need.
